An exquisite antique Victorian fob pendant depicting a proud, rampant horse and shield, which together represent strength, bravery and virility.
It’s all 9ct gold and features scrolling decoration around the side of the base which holds a deep red carnelian seal underneath that has yet to be engraved.
Fobs were usually worn as a decorative accessory to go along with a pocket watch. The seal was often engraved and used to stamp a person's signature or perhaps a sentimental message or image in sealing wax on important documents.
It’s remained in excellent condition and is a wonderful piece of history.
